Step 1: I soaked the mug beans into water for at least two hours so they can soak up the water and it'll make cooking less time consuming.
What happened here was the bean covers started to crack because there was water being absorbed, I thought it was pretty cool if I started taking the peels off. The problem was when I tried squeezing the peels off, the beans would split in half. That's why in the picture below, you can see some really yellow beans which I accidentally split.
Problem here was we put a 1:3 ratio of bean and water into the cooker, after a few minutes the room started to smell like burnt beans. This, of course, meant something was wrong so we went to check up on the cooker. Turns out, the beans were flipping and flopping around the cooker and the water was boiling way too much. Guess what Ming did...he got a whole water jug and poured the left over water into the cooker. Way too much water. Thanks Ming, now the ratio's more like 1:10!
